Councilman Ladouceur Endorses Bill Muto for State Rep.

Dear Neighbor,

I chair the Warwick City Council Finance Committee, and I have served alongside Bill Muto on that committee. Having sat through more budget hearings and finance meetings than I care to count, I can tell you one clear truth: almost all of the real work happens long before anyone steps up to a microphone.

Bill does that work. He walks into every hearing having already scrutinized the line items, stress-tested the purchase requests, and run the numbers himself. You cannot manufacture that level of discipline, and Bill brings it to every single meeting.

Bill and I do not agree on every issue, and that is as it should be. What matters to me is that he never walks into a room unprepared, nor does he play to the crowd for easy political points. He reads the entire document, shows his math, and asks the hard, uncomfortable questions that others try to avoid. When the underlying numbers fail to justify a policy, he says so out loud, without hesitation.

Rhode Island has no shortage of politicians who drop buzzwords about fiscal responsibility. What we desperately lack are leaders who will dig into a fiscal note, cut through the noise, and explain plainly what a policy costs a working family in Warwick. That is the exact standard of representation District 23 needs.

That is why I endorse Bill Muto for State Representative in District 23. The Democratic primary is Wednesday, September 9, and I strongly urge you to give him your vote.
